ABOUT TIMOTHY CROWLEY

What are we going to achieve together? Every great project (or indeed partnership) in my experience begins with a question such as this.For more than six years, I have been working with a focus on applying economic theory,and quantitative methods to both commercial and public sector challenges. I expect that this seminal question will continue to be an essential component of further enterprises. I continually seek opportunities to apply problem-solving research methods to the challenges facing today\'s organisations, both private and public – ideally within a collaborative environment.To date, such applications have included: • Geo-spatial analysis of North American freight traffic flows for the assessment of customer segmentation, prospecting and fleet planning.• Developing proprietary railcar and aircraft valuation models in collaboration with colleagues from diverse fields (Technical, Credit & Enterprise Risk, Sales and Finance).• Creating new methods of deal and portfolio level evaluation tailored to the needs of senior management, enabling the realisation of new business opportunities.• Advising Irish businesses in the Engineering, Regional Development and Energy sectors. As part of an application focused MA (Economics) I worked with teams of post-graduate student consultants applying economic theories regarding topics such as regional development and energy pricing models to key investment decisions facing Irish firms.In each of these endeavours, the common route toward optimisation has required the following key ingredients- Comprehensive communication- Transparent and consistent sharing of ideas and processes- A personal commitment to delivering actionable solutions rooted in rigorous research. I expect that these work practices will continue to prove invaluable components of teamwork in order to overcome the challenges of today and to discover the opportunities of tomorrow!
