I am an accomplished Safety and Enterprise Risk professional, Non-Executive Director and Board Committee Chair, Safety Strategist, and Speaker with over 40 years’ experience in Major Hazard, Marine, Water, Ports and Road Haulage Transport, Road Tunnel, Critical Infrastructure, and Regulatory environments.I currently hold two Non-Executive Director posts: CalMac Ferries Limited (CFL), and its parent company David MacBrayne Limited (DML). In these roles I am Chair of the HSEQ Committee and a member of the Risk and Audit Committee.I currently run a small safety consultancy undertaking corporate and strategic safety advisory, systems and culture assessment, and investigation work.Underpinned by an MSc (distinction) in H&S Management and Chartered IOSH and IIRSM professional membership status, specialties include:• Corporate H&S strategy and Board advisory and direction setting.• Enterprise and operations risk management.• Team and leadership development, communications and engagement.• Process and Occupational H&S Management Systems.• Culture assessment and development.• Incident Investigation and business process analysis.Voluntary work includes being a past Chair of the IOSH Offshore Group; having supervised MSc students at Aberdeen University and previously being a guest lecturer at Imperial College, London and Northumbria University, Newcastle.
