I am currently working at Club Brugge as Head of Performance, overseeing the entire academy from U8 up to Club NXT, our professional U23 team competing in the Belgian 1B Pro League. In this role, I am responsible for designing and implementing performance models that support players in their physical, mental, and sporting development, with a strong focus on both long-term talent development and the transition to elite professional football.Before joining Club Brugge, I gained extensive experience guiding Olympic-level athletes across multiple sports. I work(ed) with Olympic world class distance runners such as Bashir Abdi, Isaac Kimeli, and Richard Ringer; as Sport Director at the Gymnastics Federation I supported Nina Derwael on her road to win gold at the Tokyo Olympics; and in the same role at the Triathlon Federation, I supported Marten Van Riel and Jelle Geens towards the Paris Games.Over the years, I have built in-depth expertise in a wide range of performance domains, including:• Sport physiology and biomechanics• Sports nutrition & supplementation• Altitude and heat training• Jet lag management & recovery strategies• Strength training & physical preparation• Data analysis & performance monitoring• High-performance coaching at Olympic level
