ABOUT TIM HUGHES

Professional ProfileTim is a Chartered Ergonomist and a Fellow of the Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (FIEHF). He has over 25 years experience as a Human Factors practitioner with a comprehensive background in applied psychology, human engineering and human factors integration (HFI) across all military domains. Military programmes he has worked on include Future Lynx, Merlin, & Apachehelicopters, CONDOR, Maritime Training System and future naval command andcontrol systems). Tim has also managed and performed applied research work in the civilhelicopter domain on behalf of the European Commission, UK CAA, DTI and Shell AircraftLtd. He is also experienced in the application of human centred design principles and themanagement and conduct of simulator based experiments to evaluate prototype technologies.
