ABOUT THOMAS JOYNER
I build new products and services at Entergy, a Fortune 500 investor-owned utility serving customers across Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. In my current role as Manager of New Products & Services, I lead the team responsible for developing and commercializing Entergy\'s expanding products and services portfolio. My focus is on strategic oversight—setting direction, removing barriers, and ensuring our work stays anchored to customer insights, macroeconomic trends, and the regulatory realities of a four-state operating environment. I own the innovation pipeline at the portfolio level: prioritizing initiatives, aligning stakeholders, and holding the team accountable to outcomes that diversify the company\'s revenue base and strengthen the customer experience. My path into product and customer innovation runs through seven years of progressively complex utility work, including hands-on experience across agile delivery, program design, regulatory analysis, and cross-functional product development. That foundation was built largely in corporate social responsibility, where I led initiatives that mobilized hundreds of millions in federal financial assistance, modernized digital customer touchpoints, and established agile operating models inside a traditionally non-agile enterprise. This work gave me something most product strategists in this industry don\'t have: ground-level fluency in the economic pressures facing utility customers, and an operational understanding of what it actually takes to execute inside a large, compliance-driven organization. That dual foundation informs how I lead today. I can coach teams through the full innovation lifecycle because I\'ve worked every stage of it, from opportunity framing and business case development through pilot design and launch. I translate complex market and policy signals into structured development roadmaps with credibility because I\'ve navigated the regulatory and organizational constraints those roadmaps have to survive. And I build team capability through that same practitioner lens—not theory, but the specific knowledge of what makes innovation succeed or stall inside a regulated utility.
