I am a seasoned aviation and transportation engineering leader with over 21 years of progressive experience in airport planning, design, construction oversight, and regulatory compliance within the public sector. Currently serving as Aeronautics Engineering Manager at the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), I provide strategic leadership for statewide aviation programs and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant development of Alabama’s airport system. In this role, I oversee the review of airport planning documents, manage complex construction projects, and coordinate with federal, state, and local stakeholders to align project delivery with FAA and ALDOT standards.Previously, I served as State Airport Engineer and held key design and field engineering positions within ALDOT, where I developed expertise in roadway and airport infrastructure planning, plan assembly design, and technical interpretation of standards and procedures. My career foundation includes hands‑on experience as a graduate roadway design engineer and field engineer, providing a strong understanding of civil engineering practices from concept through construction.I am known for my analytical approach to project evaluation, my ability to lead cross‑functional teams, and my commitment to ensuring that public aviation funding is used effectively to preserve and enhance Alabama’s airports. I am also proud to contribute to the profession through leadership roles such as serving as President of the Alabama Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), where I support the advancement of engineering practitioners statewide.My work reflects a deep commitment to aviation safety, infrastructure excellence, and public service, ensuring that Alabama’s aviation system remains a cornerstone of the state’s economic growth and connectivity.
