About Taylor Holash

Analyzing data to problem solve with creative solutions is at the core of everything I do. Whether it is analyzing data from my runs on a new training cycle for an upcoming marathon, planning backpacking and climbing trips, to partnering with clients to identify growth opportunities as a Manager of Analytics on the Marketing Science Engagement Team at Albertsons Media Collective. Despite this, I\'ve had an unconventional path to becoming a Data Analyst with Covid both disrupting my professional development and unlocking data analytics as a new career path. Along my path to becoming a data analyst I\'ve learned countless valuable lessons in both technical skills and soft skills- As a Market Researcher I learned to collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate a business problem into a marketing problem, and how to utilize data to tell a story with actionable business recommendations- Pivoting to a Tax Preparer during Covid unlocked confidence as a professional in the sense of owning my clients entirely and baking in an entrepreneurial mindset- Utilizing the downtime of Covid I chose to to up-skill with DataCamp to sharpen my technical skills with Python, SQL, and Tableau- Completing my MBA reinforced the need for organization, the use of frameworks to address ambiguous problems, and how to communicate to audiences of varying technical backgrounds- Joining a small marketing agency provided countless opportunities to pursue my own autonomous projects, such as implementing a forecasting budgeting tool for the Paid Media Team to reduce the occurrences of overspending and underspending by 23%.Once at the Albertsons Media Collective I used the above lessons to identify a threat to investment from one of our larger clients due to a declining success rate from one of our statistical models. The issue was that the model was a black-box preventing us from knowing what was causing the model to fail. To address the issue I utilized Google Big Query to join multiple datasets, which was then funneled into a multiple linear regression model in Python to determine which digital campaign variables contributed the most to statistical significance. The result from the analysis identified five key variables in campaign set up that when applied over 2024 increased the number of statistically significant results by over 50% from 2023.
