ABOUT TATYANA SANDLER

I’m a clinical informaticist and ontologist with over a decade of experience at the intersection of healthcare, research, and technology. My work focuses on making clinical and research data more usable, discoverable, and interoperable whether through terminology development, data element standardization, or large-scale mapping efforts. At MSK, I lead efforts to build and maintain a standard library of data elements that power research analytics and self-service data tools. I work across domains from oncology and genomics to surgery and patient-reported outcomes to ensure data is modeled consistently and mapped meaningfully to institutional and external standards like OMOP and FHIR. I also support tooling, process improvement, and the upskilling of fellow ontologists to enhance team efficiency and impact. My background spans computer science, nursing, and biomedical informatics, and I’m energized by opportunities to solve complex data challenges, support clinicians and researchers, and bridge silos through thoughtful data modeling and collaborative partnerships.I’m always open to connecting with others passionate about clinical informatics, data standardization, or making healthcare data work better for research and care.
