Tarek ElGuindi is an international humanitarian and development leader with over 20 years of experience across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. He has managed large-scale emergency operations, food security programs, and refugee protection efforts in more than 50 countries, including senior leadership roles with WFP in Liberia, Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq, East Timor, and Libya, as well as with UNOCHA in Yemen. He is recognized for his expertise in humanitarian response, food security, crisis management, and civil–military coordination, and for building strong partnerships with governments, donors, and local communities. Fluent in Arabic and English, Tarek is passionate about mentoring future humanitarian professionals and is currently exploring the intersection of AI, climate change, and human security in shaping the future of humanitarian assistance.
