ABOUT TAMIKA TANKERSLEY

I love real estate and retail. There\'s something special about the fast-paced, customer focused, ever changing environment that forces me to be agile and think outside of the box. It\'s a great feeling knowing you had a hand in the ultimate client/customer experience.Throughout my 10+ years in retail, I had the unique opportunity of growing from the ground up. Starting in the distribution center as a processor, then moving on to a lead role before heading to merchandising gave me a better understanding of how the total process works and how every aspect can affect the customer. You never realize how one decision can impact various departments down the line but I am grateful for the broad knowledge I have been able to acquire and how I am often able to see projects full scale and offer an expertise that might otherwise be unknown. With my passion for retail comes a passion for collaboration and building strategic business relationships. I truly believe that you are only as good as the people around you and it\'s important to strengthen and nurture relationships so that you can influence for the greater good of the business. I take pride in being a subject matter expert and being the person my cross-functional partners know, like and trust. As an Assistant Merchant, I had the opportunity to manage multiple categories including 3rd party home décor which put me in a unique position to work directly with vendors on the sampling, developing, quoting, tracking, etc. of core and seasonal assortments. I opened stores, worked on floor sets, attended trade shows and visited vendor showrooms directly to assist in the building of the brand and assortments. While in merchandising I also provided end-to-end category management of multi-million dollar gifting and home accessories businesses that included strategic line planning, product development and in/post-season analysis.In 2020 when the pandemic struck, I made the choice to take a step back from my career to focus on my family. During that time I obtained my real estate license and learned heightened skills of self direction, time management and negotiation. I am excited to make new connections and explore opportunities that give me a chance to be challenged and impact clients and customers in ways that I haven\'t before. So let\'s connect!
