Summit Contracting Group, Inc. is a national company specializing in multi-family construction and is currently listed in Multifamily Executive Magazine as one of the top grossing multi-family builders in the United States. As a Division Vice President, I oversee multiple apartment communities under construction while working to maintain a backlog of projects moving forward. All fiscal responsibilities as well as the construction and management of each apartment complex, in my Division, is under my direction. This entails assembling and working with project teams consisting of project managers, support staff, consultants and field personnel. I actively work with new and repeat clients to get construction underway. This begins with site review, conceptual estimates, document coordination and issues facing each individual project. Our apartment complexes are spread throughout the United States with each state and city having project specific challenges that need to be addressed prior to “shovel in the ground.” I work with architects, engineers and consultants on the client’s behalf assisting to develop construction documents that keep projects in line with budgetary constraints, design needs and code requirements. During the estimating process I work hand in hand with subcontractors, vendors and estimators to ensure cost projections are met. Preparing and negotiating contracts, new client development, adherence to construction procedures and scheduling are daily tasks performed to keep projects successfully underway.
