Environmental responsibility for a $2.4 million a year company. The occupational footprint includes the United States and Canada.*Responsibilities focus on ensuring compliance with all regulatory programs from City, County, State and Federal Agencies in the United States and City, Provincial, and the Ministry of Environment in Canada.*Currently responsible for all aspects of First’s environmental programs throughout North America which include: Oversight and management on an annual basis of approximately 50 plus Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for new business start-ups and to assess environmental risk for owned properties, 20 to 50 property close out site inspections, and 30 environmental compliance audits. Also manage all regulatory compliance, spill response and cleanup coordination, environmental investigations and remediation, and development and implementation of employee environmental training programs.*Currently manage a $30 million environmental reserve budget; 500 plus vehicle fueling and maintenance locations in North America; responsible for over 3,500 petroleum product storage tanks; and approximately 2,700 environmental permits for approximately 500 locations.*Extensively involved with First’s Real Estate Department and is responsible for ensuring that First’s liabilities are minimized along with risks associated with new business developments and dispositions of unused real estate holdings
