ABOUT STEPHEN JARRELL

Keeper empowers medical professionals by introducing affordable, healthcare price transparency at unprecedented speeds. We\'ve proudly accomplished cost-effective and instant batched fee schedule retrieval, enabling market wide analysis in minutes to inform data-driven reimbursement renegotiation. Our mission to democratize price transparency and simplify market analysis aligns with our goal of enhancing patient care by allowing doctors to focus on their core expertise, while we focus on providing the analytics that support sustainable fee-for-service contracts. Prior to founding Keeper, I was a Machine Learning Engineer at Tidal, where I helped to develop underwater computer vision systems for tracking fish health—recognized by TIME as one of the Best Inventions of 2023. Before that, at Saildrone, I worked on real-time object detection for autonomous ocean drones, helping achieve a 16x performance improvement that led to fleet-wide adoption by the US Navy. Earlier in my career, at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, I helped develop a wildfire smoke detection system that supported real-time emergency response across California. My technical background spans AI, computer vision, and large-scale data systems, with applications in climate science, ocean technology, and environmental protection. My work has been featured at the G20 Ocean Conference and highlighted by the MIT Technology Review.
