ABOUT SAYANI ROY CHOWDHURY
Drug delivery doesn’t fail because molecules are weak. It fails because systems are fragile.I’m Sayani Roy Chowdhury, a PhD chemist working at the intersection of drug delivery, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and material robustness. My focus is not on making delivery systems smarter, but on making them predictable, scalable, and tolerant to real-world variability.I trained first in precision molecular design through multistep organic synthesis and glycochemistry. During my PhD, I expanded that foundation to MOF-based drug delivery systems, where early design choices quietly determine downstream behavior: stability in biological media, release control, manufacturability, and failure modes. For over five years, I’ve designed biocompatible MOFs, built scalable SOPs, and deliberately stressed systems early, not to improve optics, but to surface constraints before they become late-stage problems. What I work on-MOF architectures for controlled and stimulus-responsive drug release-Linking framework chemistry to stability, degradation, and release behavior-Process optimization and SOPs that translate materials toward scale-Analytical characterization (HPLC, GC-MS, NMR) to expose limits early-Mentoring and lab systems built around reproducibilityProof:• PhD in Chemistry (University of Georgia)• 10+ years of multistep synthesis and analytical chemistry• Designed MOF-based DDS with improved stability and controlled release• Reduced synthesis timelines by ~30% and increased yields by ~60%• Managed ~$1M in laboratory inventory and operations• Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award (UGA)I’m now looking to apply this approach in industry settings — drug delivery, advanced materials, or adjacent platforms — where robustness, manufacturability, and honest constraints matter more than elegant mechanisms. If you’re building materials meant to leave the hood and survive the real world, let’s talk.
