Ca20104 - Network on Evidence-based Physical Activity in Old Age @Cost Association - European Cooperation In Science And Technology
Brussels, BE
There is an urgent need for creating “tailored” exercise programmes that will fit the specific needs of the various and diverse ageing populations. A critical step towards this goal is embracing an evidence-based medicine (EBM) approach where conceptual challenges and pitfalls in basic research and clinical research on ageing and physical activity could be identified and addressed. The main aim of the COST Action PhysAgeNet is to establish a sustainable network that will foster evidence-based research and practice of physical activity in older adults and will enhance integration of innovative ICT solutions based on open data consolidated research information, in order to promote health and reduce the burden of inactivity in ageing

ABOUT SORAN AMINIAGHDAM
My research helps to objectively characterize and quantify the underlying neuromechanical components of human locomotion, with emphasis on injury management and the enhancement of movement quality. In my research, I employ expertise within the integration of 3D motion analysis, electromyography and kinetics measurements utilizing computational and analytical skills. I have a successful track-record of contribution to world-class research and knowledge exchange/transfer projects outlined below: 1. Knowledge Transfer within a project, titled \'Intelligent Walking of Humans & Robots\' between Bayreuth Medical Centre and Technical University of Munich 2. Enterprise and Knowledge Transfer Partnership within a clinical research-led project between London South bank University and Lanserhof At the Arts Club 3. Delivering a full package of biomechanical services to several UK-based professional sporting clubs and individual athletes: Example 1 -> movement analysis, performance testing and injury prevention and rehabilitation of the whole squad of Bristol City FC Example 2 -> biomechanical testing and profiling of runners from British Athletics Leeds Talent Hub
