ABOUT SOPHIE BAKER

I played the saxophone for seven years straight, and you\'d better believe that \"Careless Whisper\" is the only song people care to ask if I can play! Don\'t worry, I can. But my favorite song to play is Let\'s Get Loud, by JLo. Nowadays, I spend my time forming meaningful and lasting relationships with my clients and colleagues and developing new creative strategies. I am a first-generation college student, who got my BS in May 2023! Post-grad, I currently work as an SDR for Sisu, and I help clients identify the problems they experience in real estate, then move them towards solutions that increase their business predictability, while getting them out of production. In college, I worked in the advertising department, which greatly shaped how I approach problems today. I spent my days consulting clients on advertising solutions to best fit their needs, and fostering learning with my team as their manager. As the newspaper product manager for USU Student Media, I led my team of 5 to sell of newspaper ad space in the first six months. As the Sales Manager, I led my team to sell in the first two months (where the average sale was $200). As a candidate for Miss Utah in 2021, I doubled my social media reach and following and gave back to my community. Learning to network with businesses was a big focus of mine. Through this passion, I spent over 120 hours creating, marketing, and teaching self-image workshops in my community with printables and handouts for them to take home. This experience jumpstarted my interest in focusing on professional development and showing others how basic marketing skills can change their lives because marketing reaches far beyond the typical business meeting. I also spent two years mentoring two young girls forming life-long friendships with them and public speaking to audiences of children in my community and influentials in the community. I gained six new sponsors, networked, and served with over 25 businesses during my year. I love how marketing aims to get inside the target audience\'s mind and see how we can affect a positive behavioral change. It fascinates me how subtleties in the world around us shape our behaviors.
