About Sonia Vijay
I am an experienced staffing professional with over 8 years experience in the industry. In these 8 years, I got an opportunity to work in different domains of the staffing function ranging from technical recruiter, lead campus recruiter and university engagement partner. I have an experience working in top products companies such as Sun Microsystems, NetApp and currently employed with eBay since the last one year. In the last 5 years, I have extensively been focussed on recruiting new college grads and interns from top premier universities, built strategies around branding initiatives on campus and launched several student and professor engagement programs. My role at NetApp was that of a lead campus recruiter and I had a team of 3 supporting me through my stint spanning 4 years. I was primarily responsible for working with business leaders and key stakeholders in gathering requirements, built campus hiring strategies and executed the same, built and executed key branding initiatives and engagement programs. In addition to this, I also worked closely with the teams based in Sunnyvale, CA and Rayleigh, NC on some key global projects. My last stint was with eBay and my role was that of an APAC University Engagement Partner and I worked closely with teams in Shanghai and Singapore. My role involved partnering with key leaders on workforce planning, building and executing hiring strategies, branding initiatives on campus and leveraging social media platforms to connect with the student communities in these countries. I have been involved in launching key global programs in these regions as well as in India through the year partnering closely with the University Programs teams in San Jose, CA. I am looking to explore exciting opportunities which would only add value to my professional and personal growth.
