I serve on Hispanics in Philanthropy\'s (HIP) Steering Committee for Engagement of the Líderes Alumni Network (LAN). Líderes are Latin@ professionals working in the field of philanthropy as well as the broader social impact sector who are participating or have participated in HIP\'s Líderes Fellowship Program.\"HIP’s Líderes Fellowship empowers mid-career Latinos working in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors and prepares them to move into positions of power where they can make meaningful change. In the summer of 2019, HIP announced a diverse group of 30 new fellows from across the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico. From September 2019 through February 2020, the fellows gathered in person in New Mexico and Colorado as well as online for a series of retreats, virtual learning opportunities and coaching sessions designed to share knowledge and build relationships. HIP’s CEO, Ana Marie Argilagos, also shared her own story as a Latina leader in the field. HIP began in 1983 as a network of Latinx professionals working in philanthropy who wanted to support one another, encourage more Latinos to join the field, and increase philanthropic funding of Latinx communities. Now a membership organization that brings together a powerful network of grantmakers across the Americas, HIP sponsors various regional, national and international conferences and briefings, conducts research and produces publications, offers professional development programs like the Líderes Fellowship, and provides referrals to foundations seeking Latinx staff and trustees.\"
