About Silvio Rendon

I am a Ph.D. economist focused on applied econometrics and policy-relevant analysis. My work spans labor economics and macro-finance, combining structural estimation of dynamic models, causal inference (DiD, IV, panel/time-series) with large administrative and survey datasets. I’ve built, validated, and documented models at the Philadelphia Fed and Freddie Mac, and I’m comfortable collaborating with risk, audit, and engineering teams. Recent research includes a study on the effect of sanctions on mortality and papers in labor economics. Tools: Python, STATA, SAS, R, SQL. Areas of experience: CECL/credit risk, model governance/validation, forecasting, and stress testing. I teach and enjoy making technical results accessible to non-technical audiences. Open to full-time roles or short engagements where rigorous evidence informs product, policy, or model risk decisions.
