I am a Professor and Director of Global Surgery at Stanford University as well as Clinical Surgery Director at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital. My clinical and research interests are in gastrointestinal cancer treatment, surgical robotics, capacity building for surgical services in low and middle income countries, and humanitarian surgical care in conflict zones. In addition, I am also the Editor in Chief of the World Journal of Surgery.
