ABOUT SHAWN PHELPS

Early into his career, Shawn found his motivation rooted in the financial services industry. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ashland University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and Political Science, and later received his MBA concentrated in Personal Finance from Ashland, finishing Summa Cum Laude. He then obtained his Trust and Estate Planning degree at Bowling Green University, where he was also an instructor.Shawn offered banking assistance to families and small business owners in his Licking County community and managed a local Trust Department for 13 years before joining Northwestern Mutual in 2010. Repeatedly recognized for his leadership in central Ohio, he recruits, develops and coaches new advisors as the Growth and Development Director.Today, his mission is to help clients choose how to live their best lives. His partners and team at Northwestern Mutual\'s River Tree Wealth Management become trusted advisors to affluent families, decision makers, business owners, and retirees by providing a personalized approach and comprehensive strategy to financial planning. Through clear communication, professional service and financial education, they take time to build unique relationships and meet clients\' needs while securing confidence in their future.Shawn lives with his family in Licking County on multiple acres and raises beef cattle. His wife, Leigh Anne, an enthusiastic Earth Science teacher, leaves this activity mainly to the boys. Seth and Alex manage farm duties between their devotion to academics and athletics. The family loves filling their passports and traveling as much as possible.
