About Shant Kolanjian

Shant is a highly motivated engineer willing to learn and efficiently implement what he learns, and is always open to accepting challenges in order to improve. At the age of 18, Shant started his career working on various projects as an employee at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, giving him early exposure to the industry. After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Shant began working for The Boeing Company in August of 2013. At Boeing, he has worked on 767 BCF, 757, and 737NG aircraft, in addition to completing his certification in the fundamental of Systems engineering from Cal Tech and obtaining a Masters in Engineering from UCLA with an emphasis on Systems. In April of 2016, Shant returned to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Mechanical Cable Harness Engineer and has worked on the Mars 2020 mission as the Cognizant Engineer and liaison for flight systems flexprint cables (PWB), as well as a Harness Engineer for the Europa Clipper mission.In August 2018, Shant began new work at The Boeing Company working on the commercial derivative VC-25B program. Shant worked with both Systems Engineering teams to help mature and develop detailed Functional Schematics and the Wire Design team to further design electrical wiring criteria and diagrams. This was done in conjunction with working towards and receiving a Certificate in Leadership from MIT.In August 2020, Shant returned once more to NASA\'s JPL. Shant worked on the NISAR program as part of the Electrical Systems Integration and Test team to help develop, deliver, and ultimately integrate the payload to the Indian Space Research Organization and their spacecraft. Shant worked directly with international partners and engineers to help coordinate and facilitate this vital deliverable. Shant is also now working on the Europa Clipper mission as a Systems Engineer assigned to developing and testing verification and validation criteria for the cruise stage domain of this project.His knowledge and experience has provided him with a skill set that allows for him to effectively work with a group of people and help achieve a common goal, while ensuring the satisfaction of the customer.
