ABOUT SHANE COLLINS

An executive leader and Board Director I bring expertise in leadership, advancing gender equity, relationship management and governance, coupled with experience in both global and local roles. With my strategic and innovative approach I have been able to develop and build relationships that are crucial for advancing gender equity, transforming underperforming organisations into sustainable entities, identifying long-term growth strategies, and leading complex change programmes to support New Zealand through major crises. I have proven experience in delivering systemic change in a range of organisations. Currently the Women in Leadership Manager at the Ministry for Women, I am leading key initiatives that advance gender equity in governance and leadership roles. In my early career I was the CEO of Rugby League, expanding and growing the business development strategy, and securing new partnerships within commercial industry. Prior to this I was the Programme Manager overseeing the wind down of CERA, a University Lecturer specialising in International Comparative Policy in the UK and have held multiple senior management positions within the Earthquake Commission, New Zealand Police and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. I have led strategic and operational initiatives, coached teams of over 30, developed cross agency partnerships, improved business governance and embedded cultures of high engagement and productivity.
