ABOUT SERHAT CAN ULUGTUERKEN

I’ve always been fascinated by the tiny organisms that can create big changes. My journey through bioengineering has allowed me to dive deep into the world of biotechnology where I’ve honed my skills in microbial cultivation and fermentation processes. Currently studying at an international university has not only enriched my academic knowledge but also provided me with extensive hands-on experience in this field. I truly believe that advancing biomanufacturing solutions is vital for our future.Throughout my studies, I have discovered that bridging science and industry is what excites me the most. I find the field of bioprocess engineering the most fascinating. Moreover, I am determined on improving my skills for automation, and optimization within the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial biotech sectors. Also keeping my interest sharp for emerging fields such as drug development and bioinformatics-driven process innovation.Studying in an international university has given me the opportunity to challenge myself, and further develop my soft skills. I have particularly gained experience in project management, and cross-cultural communication. Making global connections and meeting new perspectives was a valuable experience. I cherish this opportunity my university provided for me. I thrive in environments where curiosity drives innovation and where complex challenges demand both technical expertise and creative problem-solving.Moreover, I have taken advantage of studying in an University of Applied Sciences and participated in various extracurricular activities. I volunteered to be a lab assistant for the summer school of our partner University students. This project gave me insight on the managerial side of a lab setting. I have also taken a part in 2 extracurricular projects, both related to applications of biotechnology in the industry. These projects gave me the opportunity to gain experience and a perspective on how things work in the industry. Outside of work I am an Adventurous traveler (15 countries) & film lover.
