As CEO of Smith + Howard, I proudly lead a nationally recognized tax, accounting, and advisory firm that is reshaping what professional services can deliver for clients, team members, and communities. Since stepping into the CEO role in 2019, I’ve guided the firm through rapid, strategic growth, expanding our team from just over 100 to more than 600 professionals, completing six acquisitions in under three years, and securing a strategic investment from private equity to accelerate our 10-year vision.Our Vision is clear: build a nationally known brand while staying firmly grounded in client success, mentorship, and community impact, ultimately to have a positive impact on the next generation. Throughout my 30+ year career at Smith + Howard, from starting as an intern to becoming a partner, leading the Assurance practice, co-founding our Nonprofit practice, and ultimately to becoming CEO, I’ve remained committed to integrity, innovation, and people-first leadership.My work and passions extend beyond the firm. I serve on the Board of Trustees at Wesleyan School, the finance committee for the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, and co-founded FoodStock, historically Georgia’s largest one-day meal-packing event, which has delivered nearly 5 million meals to children worldwide.Honors such as the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Most Admired CEOs, Top Leader in Atlanta, and the Vistage Lifetime Achievement Award reflect not only professional milestones but also the shared success of our remarkable team.When I’m not leading growth at Smith + Howard, I host “The Worst Advice I Ever Got”, a podcast dedicated to uncovering the lessons hidden in early career missteps and candid leadership stories.
