ABOUT SCOTT JOHNSON

I have a worked with youth in a number of capacities over the past 32 years. My first experience working with youth began as a residential assistant in college. During that time I also was hired as a teaching assistant in the molecular biology and psychology departments at UCSC. After graduating, I worked as a prevention educator in child abuse prevention, suicide prevention, and date rape prevention. I also volunteered with a number of programs providing wilderness rites of passage for youth. I then became a contractor specializing in bath and kitchen remodels. While I was not as passionate about construction as I was working with teens, it allowed me to make enough money to travel extensively throughout the world. After traveling, I started teaching at a private Quaker high school, followed by teaching at a private day school in Sacramento. I then took a year off to add a second story onto my house and during that time started one-on-one tutoring. Over the past ten years, I have expanded my one-on-one work with students to also include consulting, coaching, assistance with school accommodations, and school placements. Specialties: middle school, high school, and college students diagnosed with AD/HD, anxiety disorders, and/or mood disorders.
