ABOUT SAVANNA JIANG

As a junior at the University of Notre Dame, I\'ve found my passion lies in consulting. My combination of financial studies and liberal arts curriculum, as well as my experience as an intern for the New York State Assembly, an Assistant Education Delivery Specialist at Invest in Girls Financial Literacy Program, and as a travel team member in Student International Business Council have prepared me well to successfully pursue a career in the financial sector.After joining clubs on campus that exposed me to the finance community, I quickly found that my interests lie in consulting. I was immediately attracted to the profession through the conversations I had with upperclassmen summer and full-time analysts. I want to surround myself with enthusiastic, hardworking, and dedicated individuals. Outside of the classroom, I am involved in volunteer work and research with previously incarcerated individuals. Like consulting, volunteering is an extracurricular that teaches with experience, and I believe that the leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that I am developing through those events will prepare me well for my professional career. Moreover, I dedicate time outside of my core requirements to further develop my financial literacy and technical skills. This year, I’ve participated in multiple Wall Street Club finance workshops, attended Notre Dame’s Investment Club stock pitches, as well as refined my quantitative skills through the rigor of Applied Linear Algebra. Additionally, I am a travel team member for Student International Business Council, a highly competitive organization that allows undergraduates to consult leading firms in tech, financial services, and non-profit work. I am a part of the Bosch consulting group that is currently working on how to integrate the Metaverse and virtual reality into their talent acquisition and training programs.Most importantly, being a Chinese woman in finance has proved difficult upon entry, but has ultimately shaped my unique perceptions and aspirations. I understand inequity and exclusion, which is why finance and its relationship to justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion intrigues me. I hope to explore it functions as a societal tool in overcoming financial hurdles as well as other barriers.As I traverse the winding roads of life, I hope to gain experience that advance my purpose and allow me to do impactful and fulfilling work.
