Sara represents national- and state-based trade associations through her independent practice Environmental Markets Policy. She advises clients in their policy priorities, strategic planning, and association governance – specifically on regulatory and legislative developments pertinent to environmental markets and natural resource permitting, primarily related to wetland, stream, species and water quality offsets. Sara has also represented clients in environmental market due diligence, permitting matters, and real estate transactions, including leasing, financing and acquisition deals. Sara previously worked for the US Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Environmental Crimes Section and the US Department of Defense in the environmental compliance office of a naval base on the Chesapeake Bay. This valuable experience solidified her interest in the implementation and outcomes of environmental policies and regulations.In her roles as Executive Director of the Ecological Restoration Business Association and the California Ecological Restoration Business Association, Sara splits her time between Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Sacramento offices. These frequent touch points in the Nation\'s Capitol and California allow her to develop strong industry relationships for both associations, while still closely monitoring legislative and policy developments.Through her professional and academic experiences, Sara has developed strong leadership skills.
