ABOUT SARAH MYSOGLAND
As a student of Indiana University and a connoisseur of current events and and political conflicts both domestic and abroad, I have tailored my education and research to security and governance, particularly in the Middle East and regional conflicts. Throughout my time at Indiana University, I have completed a study on the Economic Gridlock of Afghanistan following the resurgence of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as over a potential jus cogens of gender apartheid preventing Taliban recognition internationally through a study of the racial apartheid in South Africa. As a few of my research interests, I have also gained valuable experience and guidance in briefing current events for policymakers and policy recommendations in several of my academic experiences. I have utilized my independent interests and critical thinking skills throughout my academic career to exceed and grow my leadership capabilities and educational endeavors. As of March 2024, with assistance from professionals, I made the calculated educational shift to Cybersecurity and Global Policy as a joint program with the Luddy School of Informatics; this change allowed me to tailor my professional goals to fit the requirements of an intelligence analyst. The technological and security system education and my global policy studies will allow me to gain the education to adequately approach security issues in the intelligence community proficiently. With goals of becoming an intelligence analyst, particularly in counter-terrorism, the Federal Emergency Management Institute through the Department of Homeland Security has allowed me, through independent study, to gain certifications in several incident commands (NIMS) and emergency management system programming to prepare me for internship and potential job opportunities adequately.
