I am the Director of Strategy & Engagement in a registered charity (Charity Number: 249767), which is part of the Church of England. We provide support services for over 300 churches and 100 CofE schools across the Derbyshire region, and look after assets of over £100M. This is an expanded role which includes everything I was doing as Strategy Lead, as well as new responsibilities including:• Leading the Strategy & Engagement department, which includes our Communications team. We will continue to develop our comms function into a strategic force, including a full website redesign and migration, brand refresh, responding to media enquiries, and creating open and supportive conversations with local church leaders• Forming a business analysis/service design team which will build a data model that captures all the levels of structure in our organisation across Derbyshire, so that we can classify and connect the information we hold, map and redesign processes, save money and time, and get to know our churches and communities better than ever

I’ll never forget the teams and managers I’ve had the privilege of working with along this journey. They’ve shaped the person I’ve become for the better, at work and in life.Now I’m the Director of Strategy & Engagement in a registered charity (Charity Number: 249767), which is part of the Church of England. We provide support services for 318 churches and CofE schools across the Derbyshire region, and look after assets of over £100M.My role has four main elements:1) Enabling my colleagues, senior leaders in our region of the Church of England, and local church leaders as we create thoughtful and deliberate strategies and initiatives to support the growth and health of churches across Derbyshire2) Preparing multi-million £ investment proposals and funding applications, and planning and overseeing funded programmes, so that this money can make a real impact on the churches, schools, and communities we support3) Developing our Communications team into a strategic force, including a full website redesign and migration, brand refresh, and creating supportive two-way conversations with local church leaders and volunteers4) Forming a Business Analysis / Service Design team to build a data model that sheds light on the complexity of our organisational structure, so that we can classify and connect the information we hold, map and redesign processes, save money and time, and get to know our churches and communities better than everOther things you might be interested to know: I grew up in Bolivia, I speak fluent Spanish, I’m a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter, I’ve self-published a children’s book, I’m married to a lovely American lady, I ran a design consultancy on the side for 5 years, and I’m a committed Christian.
