About Ryan Balu
Junior at the USC Marshall School of Business, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and a minor in Computer Programming. I have a strong interest in real estate finance and development. Real estate provides tangible means to promote community development, linking economic and social growth with the essential need for physical spaces where people can connect. I look to leverage my skills and interests in finance, engineering, ESG, and programming to innovate in the real estate sector. My journey has been shaped by meaningful experiences with the Impact Investing Group at USC, the Urban Land Institute’s Building Healthy Places Initiative, and internships at Project Destined and BlackRock. At Project Destined, I conducted comprehensive market analyses and helped develop a multifamily value-added investment thesis. My role with BlackRock’s Investment Operations team honed my problem-solving skills and underscored the value of automation, as I developed a VBA macro to streamline a key reporting process. As an Eagle Scout, I have developed strong leadership skills by managing large teams and successfully completing community projects, including constructing a 24-foot utility bridge. I am reliable and committed to a high-standard of success in all my responsibilities, whether in clubs, school, or professional settings. I am excited to make like-minded connections and explore opportunities that align with my passion for real estate, finance, and community development. Let\'s collaborate to create sustainable and impactful developments that make a difference.
