About Russell Harris
I am a physician leader with deep and broad experience ranging from managing large books of business with Hospital clients, including small rural hospitals to large academic facilities, to direct emergency services patient care and providing grass roots community services in underserved urban areas. Both a strategist and hands on leader I employ innovation, technical expertise, caring approach, business acumen and change management to consistently achieve positive outcomes. Most recently I managed over 65 clients organizations ranging from the Mid-Atlantic through Georgia and a large client base in Florida. With over 400 physicians primarily in Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Medicine, I led the group through severe volume changes due to COVID as well as the ensuing financial strains. Serving as the initial Medical Director, I have managed the startup of over 30 new clients, setting the tone of the department and making concrete recommendation to Hospitals on their processes. A US Navy veteran I was mobilized to Desert Storm and was awarded 2 Navy Achievement medals. I have been on the Adjunct Faculty of The Department of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University for over 30 years and has more than 40 journal articles and chapters in textbooks. Currently I serve on the Board of the Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, the Board of the Woodmere Museum of Art as well as the Mendelssohn chorus of Philadelphia. Moving forward I plan to continue providing strategic leadership in a Board capacity.
