ABOUT RUMI GHOSH

My interests have been inter disciplinary and I have always been motivated by creating quantifiable impact through my work. My current role includes overall management of the Bosch AI platform, with responsibilities including but not limited to understanding the platform ecosystem and defining and implementing its overall strategy, feature roadmap and prioritization. It also includes shaping the platform to enable the transfer of AI research into products and the development, maintenance and scaling of innovative AI solutions with quantifiable impact to solve some of the world’s hardest problems in industrial AI. As a data and research scientist, my research interests include causal discovery, robustness of AI techniques in unstable and dynamic environments and domain specific AI and machine learning algorithms for manufacturing and connected mobility. My work has revolved around applying data mining to real life applications, translating business needs to technical problems and devising state of the art solutions to solve them. I have led many data mining projects in many different domains ranging from manufacturing to internet of things. These projects have had a commercial impact in terms of savings or revenue generation. Apart from that I have also led company wide training programs on data mining in the past.My Ph.D. and postdoc focused on graph analytics and investigating the role of topology and dynamics in network analysis, information spread and summarization. I have over 30 research papers and 5 patents (granted and pending).
