ABOUT RUCHA SAIKHEDKAR
I’m a graduate student in Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University with a strong foundation in polymer engineering from MIT-WPU. I currently work in the Ober research group, where I design and characterize surface-active block copolymers (SABCs) for antifouling marine coatings—focusing on the disruption of interfacial interactions to enhance performance. My academic journey has spanned sustainable polymer composites, high-voltage insulation materials, and advanced characterization techniques like XPS, AFM, and SEM. I’m driven by the challenge of creating next-generation materials that are not only high-performing but also environmentally responsible, with aspirations to contribute to innovations in manufacturing, mobility, and energy.
