ABOUT JASEM ALKHASHTI

Jasem Alkhashti is a recent graduate of the University of Miami, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and developed a strong foundation in hardware design, embedded systems, and parallel computing. During his undergraduate studies, he served as a teaching assistant for both Computer Organization and Design and Digital Design Laboratory, roles that sharpened his ability to explain complex concepts, guide lab work, and mentor fellow students through hands-on projects. In addition to his academic pursuits, he holds a Private Pilot License, which has further strengthened his discipline, situational awareness, and decision-making under pressure. During his time at Miami, Jasem also embraced several student leadership roles, serving as Treasurer of Tau Beta Pi, Designated Lead for the NVIDIA Student Network Program, Manager of Internal & External Affairs for Eta Kappa Nu, and as an Engineering Student Ambassador. These positions allowed him to cultivate teamwork, organizational management, and outreach skills while supporting his fellow students and the broader engineering community. He is also deeply interested in quantitative finance and is eager to explore how his hardware expertise can bring a fresh perspective to data-driven modeling and algorithmic trading. This fall, Jasem will be pursuing a Master of Science in Systems Engineering at Cornell University, where he plans to deepen his expertise in systems optimization, risk analysis, and quantitative modeling. He looks forward to applying a holistic, systems-level approach to real-world challenges, whether improving computational workflows, streamlining complex processes, or innovating at the intersection of hardware and finance.
