ABOUT V. J. MARTINEZ
A justice, diversity, equity and inclusion scholar practitioner and consultant helping organizations foster communities of equity and belonging. For nearly 15 years, I have worked in the JDEI field. From higher education, K-12, nonprofit and the corporate sector, my experiences and interests are to move \"buzzwords\' to theory and implemented intentional practice to help others create transformative inclusive spaces. Skills and competencies include: relational leadership, training, curriculum design, mentorship, community building, teaching, program management, organizational change management, and consulting with specialties in social justice pedagogies and best practices. I have a doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, in Leadership and Learning Organizations, I hold a Master of Science in Education from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Women and Gender Studies. I also hold a dual Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication Studies with concentrations in political rhetoric and interpersonal communication from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
