ABOUT ROSS DARRAH
My simple mantra in business which has always proven to be true:\"Deliver believable results in 90 days\".In my career, I have pioneered the development of the procurement discipline in New Zealand and continue to lead major procurement efforts with key organisations.I rely on my ability to identify opportunities and areas that can be simplified in every aspect of a business. I have been fortunate to work across a wide variety of sectors including: agricultural, infrastructure, education, finance, utilities, Not for Profit, local and central government, retail and manufacturing.People who have worked with me know that I deliver real solutions that have a direct and positive impact on the bottom line. I have a passion for leading teams; providing the right amount of direction and motivation to achieve goals. I am creative in my approach, thinking outside the box to create solutions and opportunities; not problems. I can quickly evaluate the needs of key stakeholders and have the tools to build the best outcome for many stakeholders. In I created Management Toolbox Ltd (MTB). Here the team worked to very simple and effective principles; use a standard methodology and implement this with individual flair to translate strategy to real results. Prior to starting MTB; I worked for Lion Nathan followed by Fletcher Building as procurement director. As highlight of my time here was the development and implementation of a procurement strategy that created substantial value for the organisation. I also established a centre of excellence in procurement practices. With the successful sale of MTB, I welcomed the challenge to join the Executive at healthAlliance, one of the most significant shared service organisations in the country; as General Manager National Procurement. The opportunity to transform procurement in the health sector over days was too exciting to be ignored and appeals to my thirst to find new ways of going forward.
