ABOUT ROSS BARNARD
With over 15 years of experience in the retail industry, I am a passionate and driven online capacity manager at Waitrose, where I lead a team that implements new online propositions and improves existing ones. My mission is to deliver exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and innovation in the online grocery space. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, having worked in different roles and formats across the Waitrose business. In my current role, I have successfully launched UberEats estate wide as a new proposition and a Deliveroo picking app into the existing proposition. I have also created a continuous improvement culture for the online propositions, integrating the picking apps and a substitution process to drive efficiencies and remove unnecessary tasks and costs. As a result the business saw a multi-million pound reduction in pay cost. I use experience to effectively formulate team direction and strategy which enables success in short or long term projects and day to day business as usual. I understand and thrive in the field, Head office and Shop environment recognising the necessity and impact of change on operations and stakeholders. My team is really important to me, especially those who I am a people manager for. Dedicating time for their development and ensuring they thrive in terms of results and their own personal development. How I achieve results is really important to me, this is reflected in the way I work and influence within a team, individually and with key stakeholders. I ensure my teams and stakeholders are set up for long term sustainable success.
