ABOUT ROBERT TURNER
I love understanding systems completely and this is what has ultimately led me to software development. Currently, I develop and maintain seismic hazard assessment software built on C++ and Fortran. Before beginning this stage of my career, I was a licensed Professional Geologist managing and working primarily on geotechnical analyses for nuclear licensing projects.I have always been interesting in coding and my first programs were written on a TRS-80 at a very young age. Throughout my geologic career I continued learning and coding as a hobby, working with Java, Lisp, Python and R. Eventually I realized that I am a coder at heart and attended Dev Bootcamp to sharpen my skills and learn new tech, focusing on Ruby, Rails, JS, Python, Django, and relational database development in a wonderful environment that emphasized pair programming and emotional intelligence. I honestly want to learn all of the languages but am focusing on diving deeper with Python, ES6, and C++ for now.
