Sometimes described as “Parliament’s watchdog”, the Auditor-General is an independent officer of Parliament who audits, and oversees the spending and performance of, New Zealand’s 3,700 public sector organisations. The Communications and Engagement Team supports all staff to communicate clearly, purposefully, and effectively, to get maximum impact for the Office’s work. My role with the OAG includes:•Communications planning to improve the impact, reach, and uptake of the Office’s performance audits, reports, inquiries, and other projects.•Working with project teams across the Office to improve external engagement with our work.•Planning and delivering effective internal communications about the Office’s Covid-19 response, large IT projects, employee well-being initiatives, and the introduction of new professional standards across our organisation.•Social media, blogging, media training, Select Committee training, and media liaison.
