Park, Planning and Development Services Division• Manage the park planning and development section for a city with a population of with approximately 230 parks and over 4,300 acres of parkland• Oversee a budget of $40 million worth in park capital improvement projects (CIP)• Manage the delivery of approximately 70 CIP projects, including new and renovated park construction, park amenities, and park facilities• Supervise a team of 11 FTE positions, including six landscape architects, two park planners and three support staff• Oversee the park planning section, including the administration of ordinances for Park Development Impact Fee, Parkland Dedication/ In-Lieu Fee (Quimby) and Park Maintenance District Annexation• Manage the update to the city’s comprehensive park plan, scheduled for completion in 2023, including community outreach strategy• Managed and orchestrated summer youth outreach plan for our comprehensive park plan update in collaboration with the Youth Division, which received California Park and Recreation Society Award of Excellence in 2021 • Consult with council members and receive input on council priorities and direction for future CIP projects • Work on various agreements including partnership, joint use, and maintenance agreements; negotiating sensitive issues for high profile projects• Present at Park and Recreation Commission hearings and public meetings• Collaborate with various divisions, departments and external agencies, including YPCE’s Park Maintenance, Recreation, Youth and Support Services Divisions; Community Development Department, Department of Utilities, Public Works; and Natomas Unified School District and Twin Rivers Unified School District.• Developed a GIS equity dashboard to assist in prioritizing sports field investments and allocations by a variety of metrics, including quality of services, vulnerable populations, youth density, and income level
