ABOUT RANDY BRANDT
I am a Professional Geologist, registered in the state of California and a Certified Environmental Manager in the state of Nevada, with over 30 years of experience in putting environmentally contaminated and distressed properties back into productive use. I have focused my career on development and implementation of site restoration programs for properties that are blighted hazardous waste sites ranging in size from gasoline service stations to closed military bases. I do this through a partnership with my clients to manage large-scale soil and groundwater remediation efforts that support the ultimate redevelopment of the distressed property into thriving and economically productive land uses. My experience has allowed me to become adept at developing creative, cost effective, and integrated development/restoration strategies to meet objectives of project stakeholders, including responsible land owners, land developers, regulatory agencies, and the public. I have provided technical direction for projects falling under the purview of numerous environmental regulations including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Water Act (CWA), as well as numerous state and local regulatory programs in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah. I have also developed experience in providing consultation on the impacts of climate change on closed and active waste management units, complex industrial facilities, and groundwater reserves located in coastal regions that are susceptible to rising sea level and changing climate-related impacts. In my spare time, I am a real estate investor with a focus on buying and rehabilitating distressed residential and commercial properties for resale or rental.
