ABOUT RAMONA DOWDELL
As a self motivated, life enthusiast who lives to serve others, I greet each day head on with set objectives. A true social worker at heart, helping individuals locate and maintain their power to achieve goals, without judgment, is the #1 focus. In addition to a Bachelors & Masters in Social Work, my experience includes invested energy in service to Western Carolina University campus community as a vibrant New Student Orientation Counselor, dynamic Resident Assistant, detail oriented organizer of various domestic Service Learning opportunities, and empowerment of a team in co-coordination of a minority mentoring program. My passions of travel and service, include international adventures constructing homes in Haiti and Kenya. Domestic expeditions encompass spearheading an AmeriCorps team within the US to meet identified needs in rural and urban communities. In the 2.5 years prior to joining Peace Corps my focus at the Department of Social Services was to strengthen families in efforts to eradicate child abuse and neglect. I continue to serve youth, families, adults, communities and organizations through community building to include conflict resolution.
