ABOUT RACHEL MATAIRA
I am an award-winning photographer exploring how art can help us understand environmental and social change. My work examines the relationship between people and place, using visual storytelling to make sense of our shifting world.I hold a double degree in Software Design and Accounting & Tax, which shaped a systems-focused way of thinking about technology, culture, and creative practice. Photography became the medium where these perspectives could converge.I am currently completing a Master of Technological Futures, focusing on how emerging technologies are reshaping the creation, distribution, and cultural impact of art. I am particularly interested in how technological development can strengthen artistic practice, support community connection, and help us navigate complexity with more clarity and imagination.
