ABOUT PRIYANKA PATEL

I am an Associate Solicitor with over 8 years of experience in my practice area. As an Associate at Browne Jacobson in the health advisory and litigation department, I defend clinical negligence claims against the NHS and act for NHS Resolution. I am currently working on a group action and managing my own varied caseload, including cases which are pre-action and in court proceeding. I also work alongside the inquest and advisory team and investigate any potential claims that may arise following an inquest. Many of the claims that I deal with are complex and high value. I have considerable experience in dealing with claims at all stages of the litigation process. I have almost 6 years prior experience in acting for Claimants (injured parties) to bring a claim for clinical negligence against their treating clinicians. Whilst acting for Claimants, I dealt with a wide range of claims against General Practitioners, Dental Practitioners, NHS Trusts, private healthcare organisations, pharmacists, opticians, and treatment providers. Working in a Claimant role before moving to a Defendant role has given me a useful insight and understanding of the litigation process from both sides. I have a particular interest in cauda equina syndrome (a rare and severe type of spinal stenosis where the nerves in the lower back suddenly become compressed), birth injuries to the mother and baby, brain injuries, and fatal cases. I am committed to representing and defending my client’s interests, providing comprehensive legal advice, and ensuring a fair and timely conclusion to cases.
