I am a Partner in the Health & Social Care Advisory & Inquests Team at Browne Jacobson LLP, a full service law firm delivering legal services across the UK and internationally.Working as part of the national advisory team, providing advice to a range of clients such as NHS bodies, local authorities, and independent health and social care providers, including: the Court of Protection (health and welfare), mental capacity, mental health law, serious medical treatment cases including urgent and out of hours applications to the High Court, the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, inquests and NHS commissioning.I conduct my own advocacy in the Court of Protection. In 2024 I was seconded as Interim General Counsel at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS foundation Trust.I was seconded as Head of Legal/Trust Solicitor at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between June 2020-March 2021. I have also spent time on mini secondments at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.I undertook my training contract with Pannone LLP in March 2012; completing a 9 month seat in Regulatory, a 6 month seat in Serious Injury, and 3 months in Court of Protection. After qualification I moved to Weightmans LLP, where as part of my role in Healthcare, I was seconded 3 days a week as on site Solicitor at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. When not on secondment I assisted on NHS Resolution cases.
