ABOUT PHILLIP IRACE

As a mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. and a passion for innovation, I specialize in advancing aerospace and energy technologies. Currently, I serve as a Program Director for the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory where I oversee groundbreaking research initiatives that leverage the unique environment of the ISS to drive scientific and technological advancements. I am passionate about fostering collaborations with industry, academia, and government agencies to increase access to space-based research and drive innovation.Additional experiences include writing and performing SBIR/STTR proposals, prototype design, developing advanced thermal protection systems for hypersonic vehicles and high power electronics, developing a new additive manufacturing technique for high temperature materials that utilizes flame synthesis, HVAC design & build, microgravity research, and fundamental combustion research.I am a licensed Professional Engineer and serve on the Illinois College Engineering Advisory Board.
