ABOUT PHAEDON VASS

Phaedon is a senior executive with a strong track record in media, entertainment, education & training businesses. He has held board & industry advisory roles in both government & the private sector & most recently as Executive Director- Industry Learning: Media, Entertainment, Culture & Fashion at NEOM, & continues to be a Senior Advisor for them. Previous non-executive appointments include the Sydney City Council Cultural Advisory Committee, Sydney Film Festival, & SAE Creative Media Institute. Phaedon is Co-Founder of the online start-up, WealthKnowHow, a content marketing website focused on improving the financial literacy for consumers, a business since acquired by ASX listed fintech Raiz Ltd. He had also been appointed by Telstra as Global Media Industry Executive, Global Industries developing strategy across all screen based media and striking key partnerships & alliances. Phaedon was previously appointed Executive Director of the Tadreeb Academy for the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority (twofour54). The BBC & Thomson Reuters were its anchor partners. Partnerships & alliances were dramatically expanded under Phaedon’s leadership to include Ubisoft, Cartoon Network, RFI, & NFTS among others enabling the academy to offer over 220 courses & programs. He also led the acquisition of the SAE Institute-Dubai & drove the expansion of the academy to include fully accredited offerings. Prior to twofour54, Phaedon\'s focus was in the Australian media,entertainment & education sectors. He has held senior roles with companies such as Accenture, Foxtel, Macquarie Bank, and ABC in addition to having led successful start-up businesses in the e-learning & training sectors. He has undertaken advisory & consulting projects for some of Australia’s most iconic media brands & public institutions including Australian Capital Equity, Beyond & Screen Australia among others. International engagements have included Spelling Entertainment(Paramount) Pandora, & twofour54. Phaedon was also CEO of online learning start-up, Redapple Education, launching skwirk.com, Australia’s first curriculum specific interactive website for the K-12 market. He has been a regular speaker at conferences & events that have included the Financial Times, BAFTA, AFTRS, SPAA & AWG among others
