Leading strategic directionOver 20 years‘ serving at Board and C-suite level for multi-million-euro businesses in the steel production and construction sector gives me invaluable experience of leading and managing strategic and commercial activity. Currently fulfilling complementary CEO, MD and Board roles, I lead all strategic and operational activity of a workforce > people at the Duisburg integrated steel plant and several rolling mills producing up to 1,2 million tons of steel per annumTransforming operational activityI build and transform businesses, guide them to sustainability and even lower CO2 foot print. Through defining strategic direction and applying well-practised project management methodologies, I am able to increase corporate profitability, improve quality and branding and reduce costs. Achievements in my current role as CEO at ArcelorMittal (successfully delivering a multi-million-euro-cost-optimisation program and overhauling turnover) reinforce my track record in this regard, and tell me I am getting it right.Harnessing talentWorking with organisations across Europe ( and abroad) inspires me to explore opportunities to innovate and seek out a new angle.
