WORK HISTORY
Member of the Supervisory Board @Access to Medicine Foundation
Amsterdam, NL
The Foundation is working toward five strategic shifts in how pharmaceutical companies think and act regarding access to medicine. We use our three-part model for change:(1) we follow a consensus-building process to determine how companies can improve access to medicine;(2) we analyse how companies are performing in this regard; and (3) we engage with experts from across the industry and access-to-medicine space, for example, to improve companies’ long-term thinking on access and to increase the application of best practices.

ABOUT PATRICK FLOCHEL
Our biggest challenge today is: how can we redesign global health systems to be efficient, sustainable and equitable? How can the private sector, government and agile entrepreneurs combine resources and expertise to develop health ecosystems of the future? I’m proud to having been part of a team developing new strategic direction for global life sciences companies. I have held global roles for 25 years, the past 18 of which have been in life sciences, leading the EY relationship with several of the largest pharma companies globally. I have sit on the EY sector leadership team and participated in the construction of EY’s point of view and strategic-level ideas about the evolution of the life sciences industry. As such I frequently spoke at global events and contributed to industry articles in the trade and general press.I think best by interacting with others and working with diverse groups; exploring paradox is the best way to progress big ideas.
